ROBOT COMPANIONS AND LEGO ENGINEERING WORKSHOP SIXTH SESSION: ROBOTIC CHARIOT RACE

In this session we had two teams that had to build two robotic chariots. The robots had to be able to run around 4 tables as fast as possible and block the opponent if necessary. The team members were able to play with different sensors to detect the presence of other robots (ultrasonic and/or touch).

They had to learn to divide the programing into different phases such as: moving straight, turn, detect etc.
In the picture below you can see the two robotic chariots that were built.

The students had to deal with trading-off between speed and control. Just like in the tale of the tortoise and the hare, the slowest robot was the winner. Congratulations to all for the great job done!

The students had Betty and Barney again by their side as a social mediator. They have enjoyed them so far.
